Q: Where is the group based?

A: The Group is based in the village of West Bergholt in the county of Essex in the United Kingdom. The village is located to the North West of the historic town of Colchester. We meet in the Group HQ on Lexden Road click here for details.

Q: How do I join one of the sections (Beaver, Cubs, Scouts)?

A: We always welcome new members! It would be advisable to check with us before turning up as some sections are already very busy and have considerable waiting lists. You can find out who the best people are to speak to on the different section pages or in the contact us section

Q: What are the Group Scarf Colours?

A: The scarf is divided into two halves (referred to as diagonal split), one half Red (dark) the other Sunshine (Light Yellow). The scarf is rolled/folded and worn with a woggle. It can be seen below...

Q: Where can I get uniform and other scouting items?

A: Colchester North has it's own Scout Shop open Saturday mornings at 1st Stanway HQ, Villa Road. Click here for more details!


Q: Can I make my payments count as Gift Aid?

A: Provided you are a tax payer the Group can claim back tax on any payments you make provided you have filled in the form (below). If you're a higher rate tax payer you can even claim tax relief on the payments yourself too! You know it makes sense!
